Demons 2 is another wild ride from the team behind Demons 1985. In a meta-twist on its predecessor, a new outbreak of bloodthirsty creatures occurs after a teenage girl watches the original Demons on her TV. One of its titular horros emerges from the film to attack her, kicking off a new round of deadly infections.

Like the first film, Demons 2 locks its characters in a confined space and has them fight for their lives. Here, a Berlin cinema is replaced by a larger apartment block, though the emphasis is still on wickedly elaborate scenes of carnage and gore. The hard rock soundtrack of Demons is replaced by a surprising set of alternative British new wave – Billy Idol and Mötley Crüe are swapped out for The Smiths, Peter Murphy, and Dead Can Dance.

Among the litany of Demons sequels – some official, some sequels in name only – Demons 2 is closest to the joyous schlock of the original, with some of the actors from the first film even appearing as totally different characters in this unforgettable follow-up.
