About
The first Marx Brothers film not based off one of their stage plays, Monkey Business finds Groucho, Chico, Harpo and Zeppo as stowaways on board a massive ocean liner. As they get mixed up with two rival gangsters and cause chaos across the ship, the crew desperately try to catch the four unruly troublemakers. A massive hit upon its release in 1931, the film is one of the greatest screen triumphs for Messrs Marx — a frenzy of escalating comedy and irrepressible energy so wild that it was initially banned in Ireland out of fear it would "provoke the Irish to anarchy."
