A slice of goopy Hong Kong black magic horror from the Shaw Brothers Studio, Seeding of a Ghost follows a cab driver who seeks revenge on the men who murdered his wife. Enlisting help from a sorcerer he recently ran over with his taxi, he kicks off a series of events that take him into the world of ghosts and the undead. Throwing caution and good taste to the wind, director Chuan Yang delivers an engrossing gross-out cult film that climaxes in a scene of spiralling body horror that would make David Cronenberg envious. Come for the shamanistic rituals, stay for the exploding toilets and angry tentacles!
