Widely considered to be among the greatest action films of all time, The Killer is a gloriously bloody bullet ballet filled with unbridled energy and an indelibly stylish sense of cool. With heady symbolism and heartstring-tugging themes of loyalty and justice, the film follows sharp-shooting hitman Ah Jong (Chow Yun-fat) who accidentally blinds the nightclub singer Jennie (Sally Yeh) in a shootout during what was meant to be his final job. His promise to pay for her surgery draws him back in to the grip of Triad gangs and arouses the interest of Detective Li Ying (Danny Lee). However, Li’s attempts to entrap Ah Jong draw the two together, until the lines between what is right and wrong are blasted to oblivion in a spectacular hail of gunfire.
