Set in Los Angeles, The Tuba Thieves directed American visual artist and filmmaker Alison O'Daniel explores themes of communication, loss, and the power of sound through a visually striking and audibly immersive cinematic experience.

Inspired by a series of tuba thefts that occurred in high schools across Los Angeles between 2011 and 2013, Alison O’Daniel’s debut feature takes the absence of sound as its focus, to encourage a deeper understanding of what it means to listen. Part documentary, part narrative feature, the film is told through a collage of varying stories and experiences, each of which contribute to the overarching theme of sound and its absence.
