About
A stunningly realised anthology film in which nine female Pacific filmmakers tell the life story of Vai - whose name means 'water' in each of the seven Pacific countries in which it was filmed. Beginning her story as a young child in Fiji and ending it as a wise grandmother in Aotearoa, Vai is a compelling portrait that explores personal growth and spiritual connections to home and water. The film was shot across Fiji, Tonga, Solomon Islands, Kuki Airani (Cook Islands), Samoa, Niue and Aotearoa (New Zealand).
