About
Delve deeper into QAGOMA exhibitions and displays at the monthly Members lecture. Join Tarun Nagesh, Curatorial Manager, Asian & Pacific Art, for an overview of ‘The God of Small Things: Faith and Popular Culture’.
The exhibition draws its title from Arundhati Roy’s evocative novel to explore the omnipresence of faith in the mundane and extraordinary alike. Centred around a rare collection of embellished oleographs by Raja Ravi Varma (India, 1848-1906), the exhibition delves into the intersection between devotional imagery and popular culture, capturing the divine as a living part of everyday life.
Bookings essential. Please note, the Members Lectures from May to August 2025 will be held in Cinema B due to temporary closure of Cinema A for maintenance work. Our capacity will be smaller than usual during this period, so it is essential to book a ticket to secure your place. Unbooked attendees cannot be guaranteed a seat on the day.
