Art Academy was a ten-week program held from June to August 2025 that offered students the opportunity to develop their creative practice.
Participants responded to artworks on display in the QAGOMA Galleries, using them as prompts to explore a range of materials and techniques, including drawing, painting, ceramics, surface embellishment and photography.
Presented here is documentation of the artworks they created throughout the program.

I very much enjoyed participating in the inaugural GOMA Art Academy. I learnt much about different mediums, and was able to explore a variety of perspectives about art that I hadn’t previously been exposed to. The experience has stayed with me for the remainder of the year and informed some of my art practice at school. I would highly recommend it.

Art Academy ... was a great way to try out new art mediums and [encouraged] communication and collaboration. I really enjoyed making the various artworks and visiting the incredible exhibitions within the gallery. Overall, it really was an amazing experience and a once in a life time opportunity. I really encourage anyone thinking of joining because it really was great. You won't regret it!
